updates: SAT 7/1/10 :: Ex Orbitus live at Scoot Inn
Thanks to RevRalf 23 for the video!
SAT 6/10/10 :: Sad news. We are sad to announce that after over 4 years with us, John is leaving the band to pursue other interests, and our show on Thursday July 1st at Mohawk will be his last show as our drummer. John was one of the two original members of the band and we hope you will all come out for our last show with him.
SAT 5/8/10 :: Something a little different Next week, May 13th at Mohawk, Lionel and Joseph will be DJing at a show for the first time. How exciting! The best part is, this is a free show. We are so happy to be playing with some local bands we really like and support at one of our favorite clubs and it's completely free. If you don't have any plans next Thursday, come hang out with us and hear some great music. Full lineup includes Megafauna (they are going on tour and this is their tour kickoff party), We The Granada and Obsolete Machines. If you do the Facebook thing, you can RSVP here.
MON 2/22/10 :: p2o fest. Experimental Music Festival.
FRI 1/15/10 :: More shows coming soon...
If you were one of the people at our Free Week show, we want to thank you very much for coming out. That was one of the most fun shows we've played! We also want to mention how appreciative we are of Ryan "proxemics" for his help with visuals and lighting. The photo above was taken by Peter Tung. You can see the full set at his flickr page.
Next up, we've got a show with the amazing Pong! They are a band we highly recommend seeing. They put a lot of energy into their live shows and have a very impressive light setup as well.
In February, we are playing with some of our friends at a Scoot Inn show called The Age of Aquarius Future Party. We are playing with some very cool bands: Gobi, Panjoma and Megafauna. More details on this, as well as new shows, coming very soon!
TUE 12/29/09 :: New website and new songs
This is the new website for Death is Not a Joyride. We appreciate everyone who's stuck with us so far. It's been strange and unexpected losing Kacy, who was not just a great person to make music with, but a good friend as well. We are very excited about the new material we are writing and hope to share it with you very soon.
You can hear two of our new songs in the media player at the top, and you can also download both mp3 and wav versions. We are giving these away to introduce people to the new lineup of Death is Not a Joyride.
New shows are being booked and we will be playing a lot of brand new music over the next few months. We hope to see you at the shows.
